Practice Guidelines
Things you need to know
 |
 |
- The studio opens 30 min. before classes begin. Please try to arrive 5 - 10 minutes before class. If this is your first class, you will need a little extra time to complete your information form. If you arrive and a class is still in practice, please make yourself comfortable in the front lobby until the class is completed.
- If you arrive a few minutes late, you may still join the class - please enter quietly, turning off all cell phones and pagers. Late arrivals disturb the class and can affect whether the class will run or not - please be punctual.
- Please remember that once you enter the studio classroom, conversation should be kept to a minimum for those who are using the time before the class begins to practice meditation. Please use the reception area for social conversation and only enter the practice room when you are ready to settle for class.
- Our class minimum is 3. The studio reserves the right to cancel a class if the minimum number of students is not in attendance at the time the class is to begin.
- Wait about 2 hours after eating. A full stomach can hinder the practice of postures and breathing. Please refrain from wearing colone or perfume. Yoga is practiced in bare feet. Please remove your shoes in the front lobby and take your socks off before your class begins. Please bring your own yoga mat. Although we do have mats available to loan you, it is much healthier for you to use your own mat. Wash your hands before and after practice.
- Inform the teacher before class if you have any injuries, diseases, recent surgeries or if you are pregnant - please consult your caregiver before beginning any new physical activity.
- Gentle adjustments may be offered to you by your teacher throughout the class. This will help guide you into a safer position or to deepen your pose. If you would prefer not to be adjusted, please speak to your teacher before the class begins.
- Release all judgement and competition before you begin. Remember that regular practice is necessary to receive the full benefits of yoga. Yoga can be practiced safely everyday.
